Hospital Visit...

Just left the room of Mom Lyons - had a great visit with her, Michelle & Dad. Paula & Landon took the kids to a petting zoo... Their little lives have been turned topsy-turvy in the last 3 & 1/2 weeks - it was great for them to be able to get out & have some fun!

Mom opened her eyes & gave me verbal responses that surprised the family! Guess she just needed to hear my annoying voice! We had a nice time of prayer and Dad & Michelle are going home to take some rest....

PLEASE keep praying for this family!

Toxic Metabolic Encephalitis...

Paula called this morning with a heavy heart. Mom Lyons isn't responding as they had hoped after being off of sedatives for over a week. Paula is wondering if she has Toxic Metabolic Encephalitis from over sedation. No, that doesn't necessarily mean the hospital staff gave her too much medication... It could just be that her body isn't metabolizing the medication out of her system as quickly as other patients. Paula and her sister Michelle both have had similar reactions to medication in the past.

Please continue to pray for a miracle. Pray they are able to meet with the doctors that are involved in Mom's case and get accurate and up to date idea of what is going on & what they can expect... That has been one of the most frustrating thing about the whole situation.

Paula is attempting to work and keep her 2 young children on as normal of a schedule as possible. The kids are REALLY missing their Grandma and ask daily when she is coming home...

Please keep this family I love so much in your prayers...

Message from Paula...

Over the last week, Mom Lyons health has improved greatly! Now, the issue is getting her off of the ventilator. It has taken a long time for her body to metabolize the sedatives they had to give her so she wouldn't fight against the vent, so even though they are no longer medicating her, she has remained asleep & not responding to stimulation.

I just received this message from Paula: "When i came in said good morn she opened eyes & held focus. prayer 4 today has to follow simple commands & vent will b removed! love u all esp GOD!"

keep praying friends!

Donna Lyons and Larry Ford...

A quick update from Paula this morning stated that Mom Lyons is doing very good today. Her enzymes are normal, her kidneys are much better, the swelling is going down, and her fever is at 100 with the cooling blanket... Please keep praying that this fever goes away... COMPLETELY!

On another note, please pray for Larry Ford's father right now. I was on the phone with Sherryl when she received a call stating Larry's father may have just had a stroke and they are rushing him to the hospital. As you may or may not know, Larry is set to record a DVD here at First Assembly on Sunday night. PLEASE pray for this family. They have had so much happen in the last week, month, year... I cannot help but believe that Satan is doing his best to keep this recording from happening because it will be used mightily to add to the Kingdom!

Just in from Paula...

"Please pray 4 fever to resolve. we need 2 avoid sepsis. thank u my prayer warriors."

Update on Donna Lyons...

On the phone with Paula as she drove to the airport to pick up Michelle...
  • Mom Lyons is running a slight fever, but has no signs of infection. It could be from the introduction of the vent tube, the NG tube or the EIGHT attempts to get an arterial line yesterday.
  • No reason to do dialysis right now
  • Doing very well on the vent, oxygen levels are at 98%
  • They're keeping her well sedated
  • Putting out more fluid
  • Blood pressure has stabilized
  • They will do a bronchoscopy today to remove a small amount of fluid that has accumulated in her lungs to keep her from developing pneumonia.
  • Abdomen is still hard & distended, but seems to be getting a little smaller.
  • The doctors seem a little more hopeful this morning, but constantly remind the family that this could be the eye of the hurricane. (for you non-Floridians, the calm before the storm)
Please continue to pray for this family. Pray especially for Michelle who will be walking into her mother's ICU room today, seeing her like this for the first time...

American Embassy...

Wow! You know those times when you KNOW God put friendships together for a purpose? This is one of those times!

I just got off the phone with a dear friend who is an Indian believer here in the US. He has ties with the American Embassy in Delhi! He is going to make contact with his friends there to see if they might possibly be able to assist Palwesh in acquiring his visa! HALLELUJAH!!!

Lunchtime update...

They have placed Mom Lyons on a ventilator. Paula sent me this text: "Please pray drs predict worse we are fighting and praying." Michelle will be arriving in country on Thursday. Please pray also for her safe travels.

Palwesh was unable to meet with the attorney because he could not get ahold of him. Kind of expected in India... Pray on, friends!

1 exciting, 1 devastating... both life changing

Just on the heels of Palwesh receiving his passport, its now time for his meeting with our attorney, Chinmoy! He will be there in the next few hours. Please pray that acquiring his visa will be a easy, inexpensive and SUPER FAST process!!!

I received a heart breaking call from my childhood friend, Paula Lyons Larkey today. Through her tears, she informed me that her mom, Donna, is in the ICU suffering with a life threatening case of pancreatitis.

I beg you to hold this family close to your heart and keep them in your prayers.

Donna has two beautiful grandkids that are eagerly awaiting her arrival home from the hospital...

She also has a daughter that is doing the Lord's work in a far off land... Pray for wisdom for her as she makes the difficult decision about when to come home...

Lifetime friends are special... therefore, their families are MY family as well. I have been blessed to have the Lyons in my life for more than 35 years... Please join me in lifting Mama Lyons & her entire clan up in prayer...

I pray that you all are blessed with (MULTIPLE) lifelong friends... My life wouldn't be the same without them...
