I'm in church right now. Yes, I'm blogging DURING church. I think the Lord will understand.
I came to church with a headache. Probably an 8 on a 1-10 scale. I hoped I wouldn't have to sing because singing builds up the pressure in my head which quickly would have propelled that 8 to a 47. As it worked out, I didn't have to sing, so Palwesh & are sitting in the sanctuary participating in the Holy Spirit conference. As the team was leading worship, I specifically heard the Lord tell me to STOP SINGING and pay attention to the lyrics that I simply skim over EVERY week...
Can I share them? Vocalists, don't sing them. READ them. Meditate on them... As I am...
Hide me now under Your wings
Cover me within Your mighty hand
When the oceans rise and thunders roar I will soar with You above the storm
Father you are King over the flood
I will be still and know You are God
Find rest my soul in Christ ALONE
Know His power in quietness and trust
How about this one:
I will bless the Lord forever
I will trust Him at ALL times
He has delivered me from ALL fear
He has set my feet upon a rock
I will not be moved
And I'll say of the Lord
You are my shield, my strength
My portion, deliverer
My shelter, strong tower
My very present help in time of need
We singers get caught up in the mechanics and accuracy - I charge you (& myself!) to instead get caught up in the lyrics....
